He did the same set in Liverpool on Nov 20th -with the addition of “I believe in Father Christmas” as part of the Q+A session.
He was in good voice and the stories were interesting; but the fact that he was playing to a backing track (surely anathema for a genuine rock star!) meant that the gig was somewhat lacking in atmosphere. Even the Karn Evil 9 encore sounded a bit like he was just going through the motions. The highlights were the King Crimson tracks; the four cover versions seemed superfluous. So I’d rate the gig as “quite good”, but not a classic!
